You don't need to install anything to start using grailward: upload your save files straight from the browser at Upload Saves. It's the fastest way to see your armory, and a permanent fallback whenever the watcher isn't an option.
How it works
- Open Upload Saves (also in the user menu, top right).
- Select your
.d2sfiles (characters) and.d2ifiles (shared stash) — several at once. On Windows the save folder usually lives atC:\Users\<you>\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected\. - Send. You get a per-file result: new snapshot, no change (that exact save was already backed up) or not a valid save for anything else in the folder.
The quick way: drag and drop
Your dashboard has an Upload your character box. Drop a .d2s or .d2i file straight onto it, or click to pick one — either way it uploads immediately and takes you to the same results page. On a phone, tap the box to choose a file. It's the fastest path for a one-off backup without leaving your dashboard.
Same rules as the watcher
Manual uploads go through the exact same pipeline as the agent: the server detects the file type by content, snapshots are versioned and deduplicated, and nothing ever overwrites your history.
Limits
Up to 50 files per batch, 4 MB each — real saves are far below that. Files that aren't Diablo II saves (like the .ctl files in the same folder) are reported individually and skipped; they never abort the batch.

Manual upload is a snapshot of a moment. For continuous backup while you play, register a device and run the watcher — see Automatic backups.
